Eiken - Infosec master student, sudo enthusiast, and still stuck in vim.

I’m currently working through a master’s degree in Information Security at NTNU. I’ve been drawn to this field for a while now, but my path here was through tinsmithing and healthcare. It isn’t the most usual route, but it’s part of how I ended up here.

These days a lot of my time goes toward coursework, working part-time as a security analyst, and poking at HackTheBox boxes and modules, mostly related to offensive security. I also like going to infosec conferences when I can, HackCon and BSides among others.

Outside of security, I’ve ridden motorcycles, played paintball competitively, and I’m the happiest man when I am working out or tinkering with something. My desktop and laptop have been victims of my tinkering for quite some time, but more recently I started homelabbing with a server I use to build practice ranges (Ludus.cloud) and mess with selfhosted services.

I have also been leader of a student union called Login, which taught me more about people than any course has.

This blog is where I’ll write about whatever I’ve been learning. It could be related to security write-ups, homelab notes or some occasional tangents. I am not an expert in any of it, I just like documenting things as I figure them out, and if it is useful for someone else stumbling over something similar or catching an interest for it, that’s great!
